Take a look at this picture. This picture was taken on our Stateline Trail East trail run this September on top of one of the peaks we went up. The clouds had thickened and the wind was picking up. It was quite chilly on top. Frankly, we all wanted to get started running again just to warm up; standing still was cold!As chilly as we were, though, none of us regretted running to the top of Illinois Peak. I'm always amazed how quickly I forget the cold and the wind from days like that, but the memory of standing on the top laughing with a group of people lasts much longer. At Alpine Running Guides we encourage you to keep choosing to ignore the windy and cold (when it's safe of course!) and continue to get up high with friends! The windburn and emotional satisfaction are worth it.
